This is a great drawing! Funnily enough, he looks a lot like the guy HBO chose to play Ned's brother Benjen.

Thank you! I think Sean Bean does a bang up job as Ned and acting is way more important than fitting the exact book description, but the actor portraying Benjen has much more of the Stark look as detailed in the writing, IMO. So the resemblance isn't too surprising.

Would you recommend the books? I've been considering reading them after watching the first season of Game of Thrones.

Oh, definitely. If you like detailed fantasy and want to really get into the characters' personalities, you can't do better than the ASoIaF books. The HBO series is fantastic, but there's so much nuance and character lost in translation (by necessity, a 1-to-1 transposition wouldn't work between different media).

Though waiting for GRRM to finish the next book (6 years between the last 2!) might drive you a little crazy...
