Haven't been following comics news lately, but then I started seeing images of all these crazy new Batman, Inc. characters and I was like, wait, what... is that...

Cass is back, baby!

But then after a bit more perusal of comics communities, I got wind of this massive stupid reboot thing that DC's planning. So she may not even be around for long. Oh, DC... this is why I never get my hopes up with you.

Anyways. Regarding the Blackbat costume...

Right after OYL I doodled her wearing her original Batgirl suit with some battle damage, wearing a shredded scarfy thing, and sans cowl so I was tickled when I saw her Blackbat design. Not a huge fan of the mask and the bat belt buckle, but otherwise I can get behind the look.

It's a very good take on her present costume. I hope she shows up in the reboot universe soon. She and Steph are still missing.

Scott Snyder, the writer of Batman, had this to say about one of them re-introducing Cass and Steph (and I'm paraphrasing this): "The writers all love those two and we'd love to bring them back on our own, but the decision to reintroduce Cass and Steph, and how to do so, is in the hands of the editorial staff."

I take this to mean that the writers have made petitions at one time or another, but the editors have yet to make a decision.

Ah, so it's the editors/upper management again keeping Cass and Steph out of books... why am I not surprised. -_-

Thanks for the info, I hope the creators who've shown support for the characters will get the chance to do something with them sooner rather than later. Snyder's run on Batman has been really slick so far, think he'd have an interesting take on these two...

Beautiful job.

Heard of Cassandra Cain before, but the first time I've read a story with her was the Batman Inc. series. Very intriguing character. Great work on the outfit.
