Yoshimitsu Unmasked by ex-m Yoshimitsu Unmasked by ex-m
I think I'm finally getting back into things... trying to unrustify my meager drawing skills and hopefully practice more and improve.

This is Yoshimitsu (his SC incarnation, not Tekken) before he becomes mechanized. I'll probably end up spending more time on this and adding ridiculous amounts of detail (more textures, bolts, ropes, patterns, etc.), as I used to do that when I drew more regularly.

Yoshimitsu (c) Namco.

Heh, you say this is the SC Yoshi and the Tekken Yoshi is left-handed. Minor mistake, since I think this is a very nice sketch!

In SC his right arm is a prosthetic, no? Been a long time since I drew this, but I think the only reason he's holding the sword in his left here is because I specifically wanted to draw him when he lost that limb...

Thanks! Good lookin' out for details nonetheless, I'm not a huge Tekken-head so I didn't know the 2 versions of Yoshi were of different handedness(es?).

Ah I see what you're getting at now, I was hesitant to make that post since this is a pretty old picture and a lot of knowledge gets thrown around and such. I'm pretty sure the Yoshi in SC can use a sword left handed as well (as the Tekken Yoshi is ambidextrous) so the picture makes perfect sense as it is.

It's like you read my mind. I always thought Yoshimitsu had spiky hair. :D

Well according to the soul calibur wiki yoshimitsu is actually human but he lost his right arm in battle and due to that my bro thinks that in soul calibur 2 he is complete Robo but if you read his sc2 bio it reads he only lost his right arm in battle. His arm is the only robotic limb in sc2

I know some peps are saying that having a beautiful person unmasked is a cliche, but I disagree to some extent...because this unmasked man strikes me as quite natural looking. He's staring off somewhere else, so we only get a profile, and there are visible scars on his face. How do we know if he is "beautiful?" Anyway, it brings to mind a younger Yoshimitsu. I think the factor here is that the unmasking leads to a human.

Beautiful work. Your linework is very well done and the details are broad, and allow the audience to drink in the picture at one glance. Great!

Thank you! I was more interested in portraying youth rather than a classically handsome guy here, so I appreciate the comment. :)
